We are searching for a Senior Sourcing Manager to join our team located at our headquarters in Lake Forest, IL.

Responsibilities

Your Role:

The Senior Sourcing Manager, with a focus in Sustainable Materials and New Product Development, is responsible for executing sourcing strategies and projects for leveraging industry insights, sustainable and circular economy strategies, key trends, and deep knowledge of sustainable polymers and materials qualities and certifications to drive development, innovation, costing, and positioning. In this role, you will help Reynolds to develop a sustainable material strategy and materials process discipline throughout the product-to-market process. You will also provide direction and thought partnership to Product Design, Merchandising, and Sourcing to ensure alignment at each key milestone throughout the Product to Market process and into sampling. Ultimately you will be responsible for contributing to Reynold’s direct material sourcing team. You will develop, communicate, and execute sourcing strategies that align with Reynold’s short and long-term strategic plans. You will have the opportunity to:

  • Lead and develop key sustainable material suppliers, including but not limited to, renewable, compostable, and recycled resins (rPE, rPS, rPP, rPET, rNylon…), and sustainable options. Establish & maintain a sustainable material solution library.
  • Monitor and analyze sustainable material market, competitive data, and pricing trends for categories. Gain in-depth knowledge of feedstocks, raw materials, conversion costs, and global markets.
  • Work with NPD (New Product Development) teams across Reynolds BUs marketing team and RD&E to develop tools to support the Product Development and Sourcing Managers that aid in costing simulations based on material selections.
  • Analyze sustainable material needs across Reynolds BUs; make recommendations to cross-functional partners for leveraging qualities/platforming resins, taking into consideration and tracking all components of the sustainable material resource library.
  • Attend material and industry shows, meeting regularly with suppliers and factories to learn innovative ideas. International travel required.
  • Provide periodic updates to business units with market intelligence, stay up to date on the latest sustainability trends and developments.
  • Working knowledge of NA regulatory requirements to ensure consistent adherence to all global technical and quality standards. Partner with Product Integrity to proactively assess risk. 
  • Knowledge of sustainable material trends: provide subject matter expertise on processes and requirements of various certifications.
  • Identify cost savings and improvement opportunities and lead cross-functional teams through project realization.
  • Create and present financial business cases to senior leadership to ensure alignment on strategic sourcing initiatives.
  • Liaise with NPD, sourcing, and vendors to solve any technical issues arising from materials substitutions or new manufacturing techniques that align with the RCP ESG goals.
  • Communicate with suppliers to ensure resins are being developed, delivered, cost, and produced appropriately and ensure compliance with our quality standards.
  • Assess and mitigate category risks and engage proper internal stakeholders and external resources to optimize solutions and improvements.
  • Regularly monitor and analyze the market, competitive intelligence, and pricing trends. Report market data to key stakeholders and use the intel to enable strategic category decisions. 
  • Assess spend analytics, develop bids that encompass the total cost of ownership, and execute complex contractual negotiations. Redline and implement supply agreements with legal collaboration.
  • Establish and manage critical vendor relationships and serve as the key liaison between suppliers and Reynold’s operations.
  • Identify critical supply disruption points in the upstream value chain and formulate an effective strategy for mitigation.
  • Work cooperatively with Engineering to assess the quality capabilities of new and existing suppliers to ensure that all product/material purchases meet defined quality standards.

Qualifications

We need you to have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 8+ years of professional experience in the Procurement discipline in a large, internationally scaled, multi-plant manufacturing organization.
  • 5+ years of experience in sourcing sustainable materials and new product development sourcing.
  • Knowledge of Sustainable Materials that are driven by circular economy markets.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams to implement NPD, supplier change, and/or cost savings initiatives across a large, complex supplier base and a geographically diverse plant network.
  • Demonstrated expertise in procurement category management, supplier relationship management, commercial negotiations, and the new product development (NPD) strategic sourcing process.
  • Strong proficiency in redlining complex contracts. Knowledge of commercial and legal contractual terms and conditions. 
  • Proficient with MS Office.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills, and the ability to communicate and influence at all levels within the organization.
  • Self-directed with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple accountabilities and multiple internal customers.
  • Strong analytical skills as well as organizational skills.
  • A commitment to excellence and continuous improvement with experience in various continuous improvement processes and initiatives.
  • Solid project management capabilities with the ability to organize and manage multiple projects simultaneously from origin through execution.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule to meet key business deadlines.
  • Must be team-oriented with the skill set to excel in high collaboration and performance teams.
  • Flexibility to travel up to 35% and ability to travel internationally.

Role is eligible for 18% annual incentive provided the business meets financial goals and the individual meets their performance goals, subject to plan administration guidelines.
