Responsibilities

Your Role:

As a Plant Controller, you will perform general accounting, auditing, business analysis, and reporting and will be responsible for providing financial management, guidance, and control of the manufacturing costs and operations for plant. The Plant Controller is responsible for coordinating separate or specialized accounting treatment and reporting (e.g., cost accounting using standard cost, process cost, and financial statements & reports) for different senior management and/or external customers.

You will have the opportunity to:

  • Apply accounting principles, theories, concepts, and practices to implement, and research cost reduction and expansion opportunities.
  • Be a key partner to the Plant Manager, plant operations leadership team Business Unit and Marketing teams.
  • Provide technical advice and services to operating managers, interpret accounting reports and statements, and identify problem areas; and evaluate complete assignments for conformance with applicable policies, regulations, and tax laws.
  • Responsible for coordinating separate or specialized accounting treatment and reporting (e.g., cost accounting using standard cost, process cost, and financial statements & reports) for various levels of management and/or external customers.
  • Exercise professional judgment in making frequent and appropriate recommendations for new accounts, revisions in account structure, ledgers, and business unit records.
  • Be responsible for the accounting treatment of financial transactions and interpretation of technical accounting pronouncements,
  • Perform accurate month-end close activities as well as financial reviews,
  • In locations where applicable, be responsible to comply with the SQF and GMP practices and programs to ensure safe food packaging product and to report food safety problems to those with authority to take action.
  • Manage a staff of two plant accountants.

Qualifications

We need you to have:

  • BA/BS degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of related professional Manufacturing Accounting experience.
  • Experience with large, automated financial systems such as SAP, Hyperion, JDE, and SmartView.
  • Excellent capabilities in Microsoft Office, including Excel.
  • Minimal travel is needed.
  • Internal RCP candidates encouraged to apply, and relocation assistance may be considered.

Icing on the cake:

  • MBA or another advanced degree.
  • CPA certification.
  • Leadership experience with a consumer manufacturing company.
  • Prior supervisory experience.

Posted Salary Range

USD $130,000.00 - USD $140,000.00 /A

Bonus Eligibility

Role is eligible for 10% annual incentive provided the business meets financial goals and the individual meets their performance goals, subject to plan administration guidelines.
