Responsibilities

Your Role: 

As a Controls Engineer, you will be working in an automated packaging facility and will incorporate programmable logic controllers (PLC), servo systems, sensors, and other automation components.

 

You will have the opportunity to:

  • Work with PLC-based control systems for an automated packaging line/and or facilities equipment.
  • Revision control process for PLC programs. 
  • Generate electrical drawing packages.
  • Control circuit, wiring, troubleshooting, and construction.
  • Proactively provide technical support to production personnel, processes and to all internal customers.

 

Ultimately, you will lead or be SPA for new projects involving new lines, upgrades or improvements integrating the facility with corporate functions. You will also guide, teach and train mechanics and provide technical support on repairs and theory of operation.

Qualifications

We need you to have: 

 
  • BS degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology.
  • 4+ years of applicable experience.
  • Solid communications skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and establish priorities.
  • Understanding and implementing designs from technical drawings.
  • Interacting with contractors and customers using verbal and written communication.
  • Troubleshoot problems with current PLC control systems.
  • Develop and document new PLC control systems from concept to qualification.
  • Interface with equipment vendors and contractors to troubleshoot and resolve startup issues.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% to other facilities (based in JAX W, support TMQ, TMP and JAX E). 

 

Icing on the cake: 

  • Prior experience with new machinery installation, troubleshooting, and repair.
  • Experience using AutoCad.
  • Working knowledge of extrusion processes and converting.
  • Knowledge and skills in tools and components used in maintenance and repair of mechanical systems such as bearings, gears, clutches, belts, and seals.
