We are searching for a Project Manager Engineering Studies & New Technology Development (Temporary) to join our corporate headquarters in Lake Forest, IL.

Responsibilities

Your Role:

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager (Temporary) to support engineering studies, research & development (R&D), and new product development (NPD) initiatives. This role will oversee the planning, execution, and coordination of projects focused on emerging technologies, feasibility studies, and early-stage product innovation. The ideal candidate will work with a team of engineers, scientists, and business leaders to drive projects from concept to proof of feasibility.

  • Project Planning & Execution: Develop and manage project timelines, deliverables, and budgets for engineering studies and technology development initiatives.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with R&D, engineering, product management, and SVP of the business team to ensure alignment on project goals and milestones.
  • Technical Feasibility & Risk Assessment: Coordinate feasibility studies, prototype testing, and technical evaluations to assess new technology potential.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary liaison between technical teams, senior leadership, and external partners, providing regular project updates and risk assessments.
  • Resource & Budget Management: Ensure appropriate allocation of resources, including personnel, materials, and financial investments, to meet project objectives.
  • Regulatory & Compliance Oversight: Support compliance with industry regulations, intellectual property considerations, and company standards.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify process improvements and best practices to enhance project management efficiency and innovation success rates.

Qualifications

We need you to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Business, or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in project management, preferably within engineering, R&D, or technology development environments.
  • Strong knowledge of product development lifecycles, feasibility studies, and innovation processes.
  • Proficiency in project management methodologies (Agile, Stage-Gate, Waterfall, etc.).
  • Experience with budget management, risk assessment, and cross-functional leadership.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

 

Icing on the cake:

  • Master's degree.
  • PMP or equivalent certification.
