This role can be based out of Miami or Chicago. 

Responsibilities

Your Role:

The Senior Sales Director, Latin America, will lead a dynamic team focused on delivering annual commercial plans while setting strategic growth aspirations for the region. This pivotal leadership position will be responsible for driving business results, managing people, overseeing distributor networks, fostering key customer relationships, handling financial planning and controls, and ensuring operational excellence. As a leader, you will be instrumental in developing a high-performing team committed to exceptional execution standards. You will guide Directors and Regional Sales Managers in close collaboration with distributor partners, managing priorities and conducting regular top-to-top meetings with key distributors and wholesalers.

Business Results
Accountable for driving business growth and meeting targets across LATAM.

  • Lead the execution of sales strategies to achieve aggressive revenue and market share targets for the Consumer Goods division.
  • Develop and implement actionable plans to consistently meet both short-term and long-term sales objectives.
  • Actively engage in LATAM planning and co-lead the setting of sales targets for key periods.
  • Monitor and evaluate key performance indicators (KPIs), sales metrics, and other business-critical data to assess performance and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Provide visibility and develop action plans to maintain healthy in-market sales while ensuring optimal stock levels.
  • Accelerate market share gains with established in-market brands.
  • Achieve innovation distribution targets across the region.

Team Leadership

  • Lead, motivate, and inspire a high-performing sales team, ensuring alignment with company goals and growth objectives.
  • Provide mentorship, coaching, and professional development to sales leaders and team members, driving both individual and team growth.
  • Implement robust performance management processes, including goal setting, performance reviews, and recognition initiatives to retain top talent.
  • Enhance engagement to develop international talent.
  • Oversee talent evaluations and succession planning.

Distributor Management

  • Manage and nurture distributor relationships to ensure optimal performance, loyalty, and alignment with company objectives.
  • Oversee distributor agreements, including contract negotiations, margin optimization, and the creation of annual commercial plans.
  • Develop and implement distributor performance measurement systems, establishing clear expectations and guidelines for mutual success.
  • Drive accountability in assortment, merchandising, pricing, and shelving execution at retail to increase market penetration.
  • Participate in regular business reviews to address challenges, successes, and business needs.
  • Guide top-to-top discussions and provide key feedback and follow-ups.
  • Continuously evaluate and optimize the distributor network for maximum coverage, reach, and profitability.

Planning

  • Lead the creation and management of the annual sales budget, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
  • Ensure robust financial controls are in place to manage expenses, track sales margins, and optimize profitability.
  • Guarantee adequate budgets are in place to enable the team to drive results.
  • Monitor and report on sales performance against financial targets, identifying variances and implementing corrective measures as necessary.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to analyze sales trends and ensure accurate forecasting and resource allocation.

Operations

  • Oversee the end-to-end sales process, from lead generation to contract negotiation and order fulfillment, ensuring operational efficiency and accuracy.
  • Work with operations and supply chain teams to ensure product availability, efficient logistics, and timely delivery to customers.
  • Implement processes that drive operational excellence and continuous improvement across sales functions.
  • Streamline workflows and eliminate roadblocks to enhance productivity and performance.

Data and Reporting

  • Utilize data analytics to monitor and optimize sales performance, customer behavior, and market trends.
  • Leverage advanced tools and insights to forecast sales trends, identify growth opportunities, and refine sales strategies.
  • Establish a data-driven approach to sales management, providing accurate and actionable reporting to leadership.
  • Continuously assess and improve data collection, analysis, and reporting processes to ensure timely, relevant insights for decision-making.

Other Key Deliverables

  • Stay informed about industry trends, market dynamics, and competitor activities to anticipate challenges and identify opportunities.
  • Align sales strategies with the overall corporate strategy and company vision.
  • Collaborate with marketing, product development, supply chain, and other cross-functional teams to ensure sales strategies are in sync with product offerings and market demands.
  • Lead and participate in cross-functional projects to improve organizational effectiveness and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

We need you to have: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field.
  • Proven experience leading both direct and indirect sales organizations.
  • Extensive knowledge of the Latin American market.
  • Strong understanding of P&L management.
  • Experience implementing and managing integrated S&OP processes across distributor markets.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to navigate complexity and ambiguity.
  • Strong analytical skills with a natural curiosity for exploring data and deriving insights to inform business decisions.
  • Expertise in MS Office (minimum proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word).
  • Willingness to travel 40-50%.

  • Fluency in Spanish.

USD $220,000.00 - USD $230,000.00 /A
