If you are looking to build a strong career, we have an opportunity for you!  We are searching for a Logistics and Materials Manager to join our team located at our facility in Appleton, WI.

Responsibilities

Your Role:

The Logistics and Materials Manager is responsible for overseeing movement, distribution, and storage of materials and finished goods. This position will develop and implement tactical programs to drive continuous improvement in workflows, space optimization, operational SOPs, warehouse infrastructure and material handling equipment management.

  • Receive, store and ship finished goods produced by plant to RCP Customers and intercompany locations with accurate shipments of product on dates promised.
  • Minimize raw material inventory through JIT initiatives by partnering with our vendors in a win-win mentality that increases our inventory turns and reduces overhead. 
  • Prepare and maintain budget data.  Monitor monthly balances and update as needed. 
  • Coach, develop and train 25 + team members in warehouse operations, including forklift driving certifications and technical knowledge of warehouse systems.
  • Foster a team-centric workplace culture – including cross-training and operational versatility. (MHE certifications, SOP & systems literacy).
  • Develop and manage distribution budget and results including cost per load, productivity and variable expenses. 
  • Comply with the SQF and GMP practices and programs, where applicable, to ensure safe food packaging product and report food safety problems to those with authority to act.
  • Ensure accurate inventory control within the facility, including RCP compliant cycle counts on finished goods, raw materials & packaging materials.

Qualifications

We need you to have:

  • BA/BS degree in Logistics, Supply Chain or related field. 
  • 5+ years of related professional and progressive supervisory experience with a proven track record of developing, coaching and mentoring a team.
  • 2+ years of warehouse management experience.
  • Possess acumen and experience with financial budgets, forecasts, and reporting.
  • Prior team management experience combined with a proven track record of developing, coaching and mentoring a diverse staff. 
  • Proficient in MS Office. 
  • Proficient in WMS and/or ERP applications, preferably SAP.
  • Solid project management capabilities, with the ability to organize and manage multiple projects simultaneously from origin through execution.

  • MBA or other advanced degree.
