We currently have an opportunity for a Continuous Improvement Manager to join our team located at our plant in East Jacksonville, IL. 

Responsibilities

Your Role:

This position will have responsibility for process optimization and continuous improvement through the implementation of Lean Manufacturing on the shop floor. The position will catalog and manage a database of improvement projects. This includes supporting the day-to-day operations of the manufacturing processes and monitoring progress of process improvement, resource identification and allocation.

  • Provide analytical problem-solving skills and direction to drive continuous improvement and solve chronic productivity, process and equipment issues.
  • Statistical analysis of current processes with the goal of establishing stable/capable processes.
  • Designed experiments and statistical data analysis to drive process understanding and improvement.
  • Development of standard operating conditions and standard work.
  • Prioritize and implement improvement initiatives in productivity, quality, and cost.
  • Support the Lean Manufacturing philosophy and use of Lean tools such as quick changeover (SMED), SWIS, TPM, etc.
  • Facilitate improvements across all shifts to a single standard.
  • Provide leadership for Kaizen and problem-solving events.
  • In locations where applicable, responsible for complying with the GFSI practices and programs to ensure safe food packaging product and to report food safety problems to those with the authority to act.

Qualifications

We need you to have:

  • BS/BA degree in Engineering, Statistics, or related fields.
  • Lean/Six Sigma certification.
  • 5+ years of professional and progressive process improvement experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • Proficient with statistical software (i.e. Minitab).
  • Proficient in statistical improvements tools to include: design of experiments (DOE), process capability analysis and process control, and measurement system studies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills and the ability to communicate and influence at all levels within the organization.
  • Self-directed with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple accountabilities and multiple internal customers.
  • Strong analytical skills as well as organizational skills, with high attention to detail.
  • Solid project management capabilities with the ability to organize and manage multiple projects simultaneously from origin through execution.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule during key business deadlines.
  • Ability to travel occasionally.
  • Must be team-oriented with the ability to work on high collaboration and performance teams.

 

Icing on the cake:

  • MBA or other advanced degree.
  • Prior team management experience combined with a proven track record of developing, coaching and mentoring a diverse staff.
