Responsibilities

Your Role:

As Continuous Improvement Manager, you will be responsible for facilitating, auditing, and supporting continuous improvement at the Appleton plant. The role includes, above all, improving safety processes and Leader Standard Work to continuously promote safety culture.

  • Lead, build, and implement broad process improvements.
  • Develop reports for and provide data interpretations as required.
  • Where applicable, comply with the SQF, FDA, BRC and GMP practices and programs to ensure safe food packaging product and to report food safety problems to those with authority to act.
  • Provide mentoring, and development planning for leaders as requested by local management.
  • Provide training of Lean Manufacturing concepts and techniques.
  • Conduct SQP and other Quality Audits in support of Quality Systems.
  • Support management practices that foster a positive, safe work environment, promotes high morale, and encourages teamwork.
  • Responsible for managing project priorities and dependencies within the program.
  • Collaborates with business stakeholders to prepare business cases, program scope, assumptions and constraints, and identify the component projects.
  • Coaches and mentors project managers in best practices, use of the methodology, and leadership.
  • Conducts monthly program progress meetings with project managers.
  • Provides weekly dashboard progress reports, including detail on project schedule, costs, scope, risks, accomplishments and issues.
  • Identifies and assists in resolving or escalating issues.
  • Facilitates post implementation review sessions and documents lessons learned. 
  • Provides status reports and presentations to staff and business leaders as requested.

Qualifications

We need you to have:

  • BS/BA degree in Engineering, Statistics, or related fields.
  • Lean/Six Sigma certification.
  • 5+ years of professional and progressive process improvement experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • Proficient with statistical software (i.e. Minitab).
  • Proficient in statistical improvements tools to include: design of experiments (DOE), process capability analysis and process control, and measurement system studies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills and the ability to communicate and influence at all levels within the organization.
  • Self-directed with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple accountabilities and multiple internal customers.
  • Strong analytical skills as well as organizational skills, with high attention to detail.
  • Solid project management capabilities with the ability to organize and manage multiple projects simultaneously from origin through execution.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule during key business deadlines.
  • Ability to travel occasionally.
  • Must be team-oriented with the ability to work on high collaboration and performance teams.

 

Icing on the cake:

  • MBA or other advanced degree.
  • Prior team management experience combined with a proven track record of developing, coaching and mentoring a diverse staff.
