We currently have an opportunity for an Environmental Health & Safety Manager to join our team located in South Boston, VA.
Your Role:
The Environmental Health & Safety Manager is responsible for managing and coordinating activities of maintenance and contractor personnel engaged in setting up, installing, repairing, and maintaining machinery and equipment, fabricating parts and tools when required. You will consult with union representatives and human resources on common issues to maintain good relations. This includes investigating grievances, submitting written replies, and assisting with resolutions. This role is also responsible for parts inventory control, along with inspection and maintenance of the physical facilities and grounds.
Drive the development and implementation of Environmental, Health, and Safety Manager policies, procedures, and programs.
Maintain updated OSHA and EPA required written programs and develop/conduct training as necessary.
Oversee the reporting and investigations of any potential injury, accident, and/or health and safety related issues.
Oversee the necessary environmental, health, and safety training to support and enhance the organization’s safety culture.
Develop and deploy policies, procedures, programs to support best-practice and identify best-practices with the Reynold’s system.
Provide communication and training to plant management, establish and maintain communications, reporting, assessments, training programs, and guidance.
Work with Corporate EHS departments and provide prioritized direction and technical expertise to the engineering organizations or contractors in implementing EHS projects.

We need you to have:
BA/BS degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Engineering, or technical discipline or related field.
5-7+ years of progressive and related professional Health and Safety experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Proficient in MS Office.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills and the ability to communicate and influence at all levels within the organization.
Self-directed with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple accountabilities and multiple internal customers.
Strong analytical skills and organizational skills.
Solid project management capabilities with the ability to organize and manage multiple projects simultaneously from origin through execution.
Well-developed leadership and motivational skills with proven ability to influence and motivate others to quickly achieve results.
Willingness to work a flexible schedule during key business deadlines.
Must be team-oriented with the ability to work on high collaboration and performance teams.
Icing on the cake:
Certifications in Health & Safety.
MBA or Master’s degree.
Environmental experience.
