Responsibilities

Your Role:

As a Process Engineer, you will be a key contributor to a cross-functional team focused on reliability, process stability and continuous improvement.

  • Drive and promote a “safety first” culture.
  • Participate and lead daily and weekly process area team meetings.
  • Champion existing processes as well as the development of improved and new processes.
  • Manage capital projects utilizing project management life cycle.
  • Perform daily Gemba walks communicating with and providing feedback to maintenance, operations and management team members.
  • “Hands on” troubleshooting of the process and the equipment.
  • Ensure quality feedback is provided for both incoming and outgoing material supply between process areas.
  • Periodic auditing of processes with appropriate escalation of any issues or findings.
  • Provide technical guidance and support for the development and execution of new plant MES (Manufacturing Execution System) and other data analytics platform upgrades.
  • Support the development of SOPs, PMs, PdMs, and standardized work instructions through technical guidance.
  • Manage capital projects utilizing project management life cycle.
  • Support the daily needs of maintaining plant performance by providing engineering technical support to plant maintenance and operations, as needed.

Qualifications

We need you to have:

  • BS degree in Engineering.
  • Demonstrated advanced leadership competencies.
  • Desire to lead and influence others.
  • 5+ years of professional and progressive engineering experience in a heavy industry, manufacturing environment.
  • Must be team-oriented and collaborative with the ability to develop and work with high performance teams.
  • MS Office, AutoCAD, process data analytics software experience.
  • A strong ability to analyze and interpret data to identify causes and implement effective solutions to daily challenges.
  • Demonstrated high level competencies of engineering concepts, process control, and good engineering practices.

 

Icing on the cake:

  • Master’s degree.
  • Process experience in the aluminum industry relative to flat rolled processing of aluminum strip/sheet (or similar industry).
