We are searching for a Director, Resin Procurement to join our team located at our headquarters in Lake Forest, IL.

Responsibilities

Your Role:

The Director, Resin Procurement will lead the Plastic Resin strategy across the organization covering multiple business units and 17 domestic manufacturing plants. This role manages up to $950 million in annual spend and has 2 category specialists as direct reports.  This role will also manage procurement policies and develop strategies that align with RCP growth and sustainability initiatives.

 

This role requires collaboration with various business units and a focus on enhancing organizational value and efficiency. The ideal candidate will establish relationships by building trust with internal/external stakeholders and develop/execute strategies to optimize business performance. The candidate will have a successful record driving compliance to a preferred network to deliver value.  The individual will be accountable for continuous improvement, risk mitigation and improved financial performance for the Plastic Resin categories. This role will leverage data analytics to drive strategic business decisions and deliver cost savings goals. Reporting to the Senior Director, Procurement, this is a tremendous opportunity for a highly motivated, seasoned strategic team member who thrives on collaborating and driving change in a dynamic setting.

  • Develop, champion and implement category strategies for resin, colorants, injection molding and additives.
  • Create and present financial business cases to the executive leadership team to ensure alignment on strategic sourcing initiatives.
  • Assess and mitigate category risks and engage proper internal stakeholders and external resources to optimize solutions and improvements.
  • Identify cost savings, cost avoidance and improvement opportunities and lead cross-functional teams through project realization.
  • Assess spend analytics, develop bids that encompass total cost of ownership, and execute complex contractual negotiations.  Redline and implement agreements with legal collaboration.
  • Regularly monitor and analyze the market, competitive intelligence, and pricing trends. Report market data to key stakeholders and use intel to enable strategic category decisions. 
  • Lead cross-functional change management initiatives that support the category strategy and facilitate execution to drive synergies across the organization

Qualifications

We need you to have:

  • BA/BS degree required in Business or related field.
  • 10+ years of professional job-related or category management experience.
  • 5+ years managing multi-plant spend exceeding $500M per year.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels; particularly with internal business leaders and business partners.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams to implement supplier change and/or cost savings initiatives across a large, complex supplier and plant network.  
  • Demonstrated expertise in procurement category management, supplier relationship management, commercial negotiations and the strategic sourcing process.
  • Strong proficiency redlining complex contracts.  Knowledge of commercial and legal contractual terms and conditions. 
  • Solid project management capabilities with the ability to organize and manage multiple projects simultaneously from origin through execution.
  • Proficient in influencing business decisions leveraging data and analytics.
  • Embody professional and ethical personal conduct and demeanor at all times.
  • Strong level of intellectual curiosity, analytical skills as well as organizational skills with high attention to detail.
  • Must be team-oriented with the ability to work in highly collaborative performing team environment.
  • Must be willing to travel up to 25% of the time.
  • Strong experience working with group purchasing organizations and integrated facilities management companies.
  • Familiarity with SAP Ariba.

  • Masters or MBA in Business.

Posted Salary Range

USD $175,000.00 - USD $190,000.00 /A

Bonus Eligibility

Role is eligible for 25% annual incentive provided the business meets financial goals and the individual meets their performance goals, subject to plan administration guidelines.
