We are searching for a Senior Supply Chain Planner to join our team located at our corporate headquarters in Lake Forest, IL. 

Responsibilities

Your Role: 

 

The Senior Supply Chain Planner is accountable for driving operational excellence across the end-to-end planning process. This role focuses on cost management, inventory control, and product flow optimization while ensuring timely and efficient replenishment of goods.  You will proactively identify opportunities for process improvement, leveraging the latest tools, data insights, and best practices to strengthen supply chain resilience. In addition, you will act as the first line of response to disruptions, developing solutions that minimize impact to the business and its customers

  • Create and provide clear scheduling direction and production guidelines to all plants and resources.
  • Ensure volume, customer service, inventory and operating expense goals are achieved through creation, communication and implementation of weekly sales and operations master production schedules.
  • Monitor and analyze capacity constraint data and adjust master schedules accordingly or make recommendations for solution.
  • Review sales forecast and inventory data to create weekly master production schedule in accordance with customer service targets, logistics and manufacturing cost goals for supply chain.
  • Develop, analyze and communicate action plans to resolve service problems.
  • Be able to analyze and calculate optimal container loads for imports, and work with packaging engineering to attain maximum import efficiencies.
  • Utilize technological tools and internal data to generate reports that detail efficiencies as well as areas needing improvement.
  • In locations where applicable, responsible to comply with the SQF and GMP practices and programs to ensure safe food packaging product and to report food safety problems to those with authority to act.  
  • Size, scope and complexity of assigned portfolio are factors in the level of responsibility.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including internal and external manufacturing operations, customer service, finance, quality, sales, and marketing to resolve issues, new item commercialization to drive supply chain efficiencies.
  • Be accountable for service levels and lead the collaboration within all functions to meet goals.
  • Work with all cross functional BU partners to reduce overall end-to-end cost, and to review product life cycle.
  • Represent the Supply Planning Manager and backfill their role in their absence
  • Serve as a mentor / training lead to supply planners within the team

Qualifications

We need you to have: 

  • BA/BS degree in Procurement, Logistics or related field.
  • 5+ years of related professional supply chain business experience.
  • Previous experience in production planning, scheduling, demand planning, or distributions operations in a multi-facility environment preferred.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • High proficiency in Excel, including ability to use formulas, and pivot tables.
  • Proficiency in SAP and Logility a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate and influence at all levels within the organization.
  • Self-directed with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple accountabilities and multiple internal customers.
  • Strong analytical skills as well as organizational skills with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical information verbally as well as in written formats.
  • Ability to identify, analyze and resolve problems logically and systematically.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule during key business deadlines.
  • Must be team oriented with the ability to work on high collaboration and performance teams.
  • Ability to lead BU & Supply Chain projects with minimal direction from BU or supply chain management
