Responsibilities

Your Role:

 

The National Accounts Manager is responsible for executing sales plans, both volume and profit, at Publix, SEG, & Ingles Supermarkets.  This position will also negotiate contracts at account headquarters and secure and maintain distribution of products.  Ultimately you will contribute to the Company’s success by building long-term relationships with customers to achieve business goals.

  • Effectively communicate one on one with customers, both current and prospective.
  • Conduct field promotion work and develops new accounts.
  • Demonstrate products and provide assistance in the best application of product.
  • Contact prospects and explain features and merits of products offered, utilizing persuasive sales techniques.
  • Analyze records of present and past sales, trends and costs, estimated and realized revenue, administrative commitments, and obligations incurred.
  • Interpret accounts, trends, and records to management.
  • Service accounts and manage relationships regarding pricing, product warranty claims, receivables, etc.
  • Provide market intelligence to management and peers.
  • Keen knowledge of Publix’s portal and policies/procedures.
  • Solid understanding of Publix Transportation and Logistics requirements.
  • Ability to work with Sales and Shopper Marketing to execute profitable, volume building events.
  • Familiarity with Publix Private Label processes and procedures

Qualifications

We need you to have:

  • BA/BS degree in Sales, Marketing, Business, or related field.
  • 7+ years of related professional and progressive experience in sales within the CPG industry, preferably with large accounts.
  • Preferred candidate will have 5+ years’ experience calling on Publix
  • In depth background in multiple channels including food, drug, mass value stores and club. Broker management experience a plus.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Unify/Circana syndicated data
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills and the ability to communicate and influence at all levels within the organization.
  • Demonstrated skills in problem solving and negotiation.
  • Strong analytical skills as well as organizational skills with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to translate business objectives into tactical actions and make sound business decisions under time pressure.
  • Must be team oriented with the ability to work on high collaboration and performance teams.
  • Experience in the trade/forecasting management tool Exceedra is a plus
  • Experience or knowledge/understanding of Logility and SAP systems also a plus.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule during key business deadlines.
  • Candidate must reside in the greater Orlando/Tampa/Lakeland area
  • Ability to travel frequently:   Lakeland, FL; Jacksonville, FL; Ashville, NC as frequently as needed to perform the daily responsibilities as well as to company headquarters in Lake Forest, IL, occasionally as required throughout the year.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to operate a motor vehicle. (Company Car will be provided).

  • MBA or other advanced degree a plus.
