Then we have an opportunity for you! We are searching for a Facilities Engineer to join our team at our plant in Jacksonville, IL (east plant location). 

Responsibilities

Your Role: 

 

The Facilities Engineer is responsible for troubleshooting, diagnostics, repair and maintenance of pumps, motors and other physical plant equipment, including plumbing, electric and HVAC.  This position will need to maintain equipment record logs, create daily turnover reports, and complete electronic work orders.  Ultimately, you will ensure all of the systems within the plant run smoothly.

  • Monitor and maintain the daily operations of the facility, including commercial HVAC systems, cooling tower operation, electrical, lighting, plumbing, and life safety. 
  • Record and maintain all readings, data sheets, and engineering logs.
  • Prepare and submit summary reports of conditions in buildings and recommend actions to be taken. 
  • Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency and Company directives related to building and work safety. 
  • Effectively plan, organize, and delegate work to meet goals and deadlines. 
  • Respond quickly to emergency situations, requesting additional assistance as needed. 
  • Interact with personnel at all levels of the organization in a courteous manner and assists where/when appropriate in solving operational issues. 
  • Maintain compliance with City, County, State ordinances and codes. 
  • Facilitate contract negotiations for essential  third party services.
  • Manage budgets for Facility Operation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

We need you to have: 
 
  • BA/BS degree required
  • 3+ years as a Commercial Building Engineer or equivalent.
  • Experience with building Emergency Management Systems. 
  • Strong mechanical aptitude. 
  • Ability, to read, review and understand blueprints. 
  • Ability to maintain detailed and accurate reports. 
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication (verbal and writing) skills. 
  • Flexibility to work varied schedules including weekends, evenings, and holidays when necessary.  
  • Proficient in MS Office.

  • Universal CFC certification.
