Responsibilities

Your Role: 

 

The Process Engineer role is responsible for supporting manufacturing by defining, assessing, managing, implementing, improving, or revising processes. The Process Engineer will work toward the goal of improving safety, efficiency of operations, and the consistency of product quality. The individual will monitor the effectiveness of processes and equipment by quantifying performance results through data analysis, field observations, and feedback from the manufacturing team on the floor and presenting the findings to management. This position will provide technical critical thinking skills and direction to drive continuous improvement and solve chronic process and equipment issues.  The role is responsible for creating, updating, and training of standardized work processes for current state and future expansion. Ultimately, your work will ensure processes are running smoothly and efficiently within the facility.

  • Provide technical problem-solving skills and direction to drive continuous improvement and solve chronic process, equipment, and design issues.
  • Interact closely with the Production and Maintenance groups to champion or assist in implementation and scale up of new processes and improvement initiatives.
  • Gather and analyze data from various sources to identify and/or quantify improvement opportunities and present findings to management in a clear and concise form.
  • Ensure process stability/capability and drive process improvement through DOE, SOC, standard work training, and other CI methods.
  • Prioritize and implement improvement initiatives in productivity, safety, cost, and quality.
  • Support the Lean Manufacturing philosophy and use of Lean tools.
  • Confer information with vendors and management personnel regarding purchases, procedures, product specifications, manufacturing capabilities, and project status.
  • Provide analytical critical thinking skills, teamwork, communications, organization/prioritization, time management, initiative, innovation, and attention to detail.
  • Work directly with corporate OPEX team and the Sales/Marketing group.
  • Initiate improvement ideas and present to management for review.

Qualifications

We need you to have: 

  • B.S. in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering. 

  • 2-4 years of practical work experience in Printing, Packaging, Nylon film, blown film extrusion or film converting.
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude and technical skills.
  • Excellent task management and work prioritization skills with self-accountability to SMART goals for being self-driven. 
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods. 
  • Knowledge of process-related standards. 
  • 5S and Lean experience.
  • Mechanical aptitude and excellent technical, analytical and problem-solving skills (Root Cause analysis techniques required). 
 

Icing on the cake: 

 

  • 2-4 years of practical work experience in Printing, Packaging, Nylon film, blown film extrusion or film converting
  • Power BI experience.
  • PLC Programming experience.
  • 5S and Lean experience.
  • REDZone experience.
