Responsibilities

Your role: 

 

The National Account Manager is responsible for Walmart and Loblaw Companies Limited to achieve annual sales and profit targets for each of our brands within the established spending parameters.

  • Achieving sales revenue, profit and trade spend targets within defined National Accounts.
  • Develops sales plans and budgets for maximizing sales volume while meeting & exceeding profit margin targets.
  • Manage forecasts for customer requirements on an ongoing basis and communicating on an as needed basis to internal stakeholders.
  • Responsible for personal interaction with existing customers to explore all potential sales opportunities while focusing on Merchandising, Assortment, Promotional and Shelving (MAPS).
  • Attend trade shows and participates in industry associations.
  • Present account updates to manager and leadership team to identify progress as well as requirements for profitable growth.
  • In locations where applicable, responsible to comply with the company standard practices and programs to ensure compliance.
  • Size, scope, and complexity of assigned business are factors in the level of responsibility.
  • Effectively use available Category Management tools (e.g., Nielsen Answers, Retail Link, IRI, Numerator) and Business Warehouse/RCPC Planning Tool to understand consumption and shipment data to identify opportunities.
  • Comfort and ability to work in a very fast paced, agile, and entrepreneurial environment, with close collaboration with marketing, finance and demand planning.

Qualifications

We need you to have: 

  • BA/BS degree in Sales, Marketing, Business, or related field.
  • 7+ years of related professional and progressive experience in sales in the CPG industry.
  • In depth background in multiple channels including Grocery, Drug and Mass Merchandise.
  • Excellent customer negotiations skills – able to find “win/win” solutions.
  • Proficient skills in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Nielsen Answers and Account Planning tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills, and the ability to communicate and influence at all levels within the customer and internal organization.
  • Demonstrated skills in problem solving and negotiation.
  • Strong analytical skills, as well as organizational skills, with high attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated competencies in planning/priority setting, effective execution, decision making, relationship building, strategy/vision.
  • Ability to translate business objectives into tactical actions and make sound business decisions under time pressure.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule during key business deadlines.
  • Ability to travel according to business needs.
  • Must be team oriented with the ability to work on high collaboration and performance teams.

Icing on the cake:

  • MBA or other advanced degree a plus.

Posted Salary Range

CAD $120,000.00 - CAD $130,000.00 /A

Bonus Eligibility

Role is eligible for 20% annual incentive provided the business meets financial goals and the individual meets their performance goals, subject to plan administration guidelines.
