Responsibilities

Your Role:

The Research and Development Engineer will lead projects driving the next generation of sustainable, high-performance products. This role owns multiple initiatives from concept through commercialization, including new materials, tooling design, and process trials. The ideal candidate combines strong technical depth with manufacturing experience and thrives in a fast-paced applied R&D environment where ideas move rapidly from prototype to production. You are someone who is both strategic and tactical, capable of designing experiments, leading trials, and working side-by-side with technicians to deliver results that accelerate innovation and scale.

You will have the opportunity to Make Great Things Happen!

  • Lead and manage multiple material, product, and process development projects from formulation to commercialization.
  • Design, communicate, and execute structured experiments and trials in partnership with technicians and cross-functional teams.
  • Develop and optimize tooling and process solutions to meet performance, manufacturability, and cost targets.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret trial data using DOE and statistical methods to draw clear conclusions and drive decisions.
  • Present results and recommendations with clarity to peers, leadership, and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation of materials, process settings, tooling revisions, and outcomes to ensure repeatability and learning transfer.
  • Collaborate with operations and manufacturing teams to transition successful projects into production while supporting scale-up and validation.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve efficiency, repeatability, safety, and data capture within R&D workflows.

You will love it here if…

  • You put safety first, always
  • You listen, learn, and evolve
  • You are passionate about collaboration, teamwork, and achieving shared goals
  • You treat all people with respect, operating ethically, and embrace inclusivity
  • You are committed to improving our impact on local communities

What Success Looks Like!
You will take ownership of your projects from start to finish, stay close to the process, and deliver results that become real, manufacturable product using project management fundamentals and tools. You will combine creativity and analytical rigor to solve complex problems, and you move fluidly between strategy and hands-on execution. You elevate those around you through example, mentorship, and technical excellence. You are data-driven, proactive, and thrive in an environment that rewards curiosity, ownership, and pace.

We need you to have:

  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing, product development, or applied R&D (injection molding or extrusion preferred).

  • Deep understanding of polymers, tooling design, and processing principles.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks, Excel, and statistical analysis tools; experience with DOE and structured data analysis required.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to convey technical information clearly across levels.
  • Demonstrated drive for innovation, curiosity, and continuous improvement.
  • Passion for sustainability, materials innovation, and transforming concepts into scalable manufacturing solutions.
