Responsibilities

Your Role: 

The The Capital Procurement Senior Manager leads the strategic sourcing and procurement of capital equipment, major engineering services, and large-scale capital projects across the organization. This role is responsible for developing sourcing strategies, managing supplier relationships, ensuring cost-effective project execution, and partnering closely with Engineering, Operations, Finance, and Executive Leadership to deliver reliable, high-quality capital investments. leads the strategic sourcing and procurement of capital equipment, major engineering services, and large-scale capital projects across the organization. This role is responsible for developing sourcing strategies, managing supplier relationships, ensuring cost-effective project execution, and partnering closely with Engineering, Operations, Finance, and Executive Leadership to deliver reliable, high-quality capital investments.

  • Strategic Leadership & Governance
  • Develop and execute a multi-year capital procurement strategy aligned with corporate growth, operational efficiency, and sustainability goals.
  • Establish governance frameworks, procurement policies, and sourcing standards for capital projects.
  • Lead capital spend planning, forecasting, and annual budgeting from a procurement perspective.
  • Partner with Engineering, Operations, and Finance to prioritize projects and ensure alignment with business needs.

Capital Project Sourcing

  • Oversee end-to-end sourcing for capital equipment, construction, major upgrades, and facility expansions.
  • Develop sourcing strategies, RFPs, bid evaluations, commercial models, and negotiation playbooks for smaller to multimillion-dollar capital projects.
  • Drive total cost of ownership (TCO) analysis, cost modeling, and value-engineering initiatives to optimize project budgets. Work with engineering team members to do “should cost” modeling to get to the right cost for the capital projects.
  • Ensure all procurements meet regulatory, safety, and quality requirements.

Supplier Management

  • Build and manage long-term strategic supplier partnerships across equipment manufacturers, engineering firms, contractors, and OEMs.
  • Oversee supplier qualification, performance monitoring, and corrective action processes.
  • Negotiate complex commercial agreements, service contracts, warranties, and performance guarantees.
  • Lead risk mitigation efforts, including supply continuity, financial stability assessments, and contract compliance.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate with Engineering on equipment specifications, lifecycle considerations, and technology selections.
  • Partner with Project Managers to ensure on-time equipment delivery, installation, and commissioning.
  • Align with MRO Sourcing Manager to achieve best TCO for spare parts.
  • Align with Service Sourcing Manager to achieve best TCO for service from OEMs.
  • Align with Finance and Legal on contract terms, capex governance, and audit compliance.
  • Align with Procurement Operations team to ensure supplier terms and conditions are implemented to company’s policies.
  • Team with Procurement Analysts to develop sourcing cycle and implement wins from the RFPs.
  • Team with Procurement Coordinators on implementing the T&C from established contract with Suppliers while transacting Purchase Orders and Invoices.
  • Engage senior leadership with clear communication on project timelines, risks, and procurement strategies.

  • Contribute towards strengthening organizational capability in capital sourcing, negotiation, and supplier management and cross functional engagement.

Qualifications

We need you to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, Finance, or related discipline.
  • 10+ years of procurement or strategic sourcing experience, with significant experience managing large capital projects.
  • Proven experience negotiating complex contracts with equipment OEMs, engineering firms, and construction partners.
  • Strong financial acumen, including cost modeling, TCO analysis, and ROI understanding.
  • Expertise in project management, risk mitigation, and cross-functional leadership.

 

Icing on the cake:

  • MBA or Master's degree in related field.

Posted Salary Range

USD $150,000.00 - USD $165,000.00 /A

Bonus Eligibility

Role is eligible for 18% annual incentive provided the business meets financial goals and the individual meets their performance goals, subject to plan administration guidelines.
