Responsibilities

Your Role: 

The Night Shift Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for leading and supporting all maintenance and automation activities for production lines during night shift operations. This role directly supervises, trains, and develops hourly maintenance and automation technicians while also providing hands-on electrical and mechanical technical expertise to troubleshoot equipment, resolve downtime, and support safe, reliable, and efficient production. The supervisor helps establish and execute preventive maintenance programs, coordinates repairs and planned work, partners with production to improve equipment performance, and supports continuous improvement initiatives focused on downtime reduction, reliability, scrap reduction, and operational excellence. This role also ensures compliance with safety policies and work practices while fostering teamwork, accountability, and strong communication across maintenance, automation, and production teams.

  • Supervise, lead, and develop hourly maintenance and automation technicians on night shift

  • Provide hands-on troubleshooting and repair support for production equipment and automation systems

  • Ensure rapid response to breakdowns and restore production flow to meet schedule demands

  • Execute and prioritize preventive maintenance, planned work, and emergency repairs

  • Partner with production leadership to support line performance, changeovers, and startups

  • Enforce all safety policies, including LOTO, PPE, and safe work practices

  • Ensure accurate documentation of maintenance activities, downtime, and work orders in systems

  • Drive continuous improvement focused on downtime reduction, reliability, and scrap reduction

  • Perform advanced troubleshooting and repairs on electrical systems, mechanical components, and production equipment
  • Support automation systems including PLCs, sensors, drives, and instrumentation
  • Conduct routine inspections of production lines, facilities, and support equipment to identify and correct defects
  • Assign and monitor daily work activities, ensuring tasks are completed effectively and safely
  • Respond to and lead resolution of unplanned downtime and urgent maintenance issues
  • Perform and verify completion of preventive and predictive maintenance tasks
  • Document maintenance events, downtime causes, and corrective actions in tracking systems
  • Communicate shift activity, major issues, and follow-ups to day shift leadership
  • Identify recurring failures and support root cause analysis and corrective actions

Qualifications

We need you to have: 

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of prior manufacturing industry experience in electrical and mechanical maintenance.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills in electrical and mechanical systems
  • Working knowledge of PLCs, automation systems, and industrial controls
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills
  • Ability to work hands-on in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and manage multiple priorities

Icing on the cake: 

  • BA/BS degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • Technical degree or certification  (Industrial Maintenance, Electrical, Mechatronics)
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience
  • Previous maintenance experience with thermoforming and/or extrusion equipment
