We currently have an opportunity for a Senior Accountant at our Corporate Headquarters in Lake Forest, IL.

Responsibilities

The Senior Accountant plays a key role in the month-end close process and supports accurate, timely financial reporting and business decision-making. The position partners with accounting, finance, business segment finance teams, and corporate departments to resolve issues, meet deadlines, and achieve shared objectives. The role contributes to financial and strategic initiatives, process standardization, automation, and continuous improvement while taking ownership of assigned responsibilities and communicating progress and risks. The position operates with a high degree of independence within established accounting practices and contributes to business performance through high-quality financial work and improved processes.

Accounting & Financial Reporting

  • Perform month-end close activities, including preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, researching variances, and completing supporting documentation.
  • Analyze financial results and provide clear, accurate information for management reporting and business decisions.
  • Contribute to standardizing journal entry and account reconciliation support across the organization.

Business Partnership & Collaboration

  • Partner with accounting, finance, and cross-functional teams to resolve issues, meet deadlines, and achieve shared objectives.
  • Support financial and strategic initiatives, including the ongoing SAP S/4 implementation and other process improvement projects.

Process Improvement

  • Identify and implement practical automation opportunities that reduce manual effort and improve accuracy.
  • Take ownership of assigned responsibilities, communicate progress and risks promptly, and follow tasks through to completion.

Qualifications

Education/Experience

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience to successfully perform the essential functions of the position.
  • 4+ years of relevant accounting experience required with demonstrated experience supporting and executing month-end close activities and balance sheet reconciliations.

Preferred

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation preferred.
