We currently have an opportunity for a Manager of Network Operations at our Corporate Headquarters in Lake Forest, IL.

The Manager of Network Operations will be responsible for the delivery of all Network services across the distributed enterprise. The role will have full accountability for daily operations of the Network Infrastructure, processes, technologies (WAN, LAN, WLAN, NAC, FW, Voice) and service providers’ relationships while partnering with business unit and other functional stakeholders.

 

Design and engineering activities in collaboration with architecture, security teams as well as with the business stakeholders are part of the responsibilities as well. Directly reporting to The Director of IT Operations, this leader will interface with internal teams and managed services partners in order to maintain contractual service levels.

Network Operations and Service Delivery

• Managing operational activities and providing oversight and direction for the operation and support of IT Network systems.
• Managing issues proactively, including timely resolution and the identification of remediation opportunities. Identifying and resolving systemic issues to prevent them from repeating.
• Reviewing and approving any request prioritizations. Partnering with managed service providers ensuring delivery against agreed upon service levels and striving to continually improve overall service delivery of operational activities.
• Maintaining lifecycle and currency of Network equipment and services.

Process Management and Continuous Improvement

• Creating and maintaining internal documentation to bring consistency, repeatability and efficiency to the day-to-day operations.
• Establishing and maintaining standard operating procedures to maximize efficiency and measure key performance indicators, consistently working to improve those metrics.

Vendor and Partner Management

• Develop and maintain vendor governance processes to maximize the value of delivered services and optimize operations.

Network Engineering and Technology Solutions

• Assist in evaluation, design, testing and implementation of Network technology solutions and line of business applications.
• Play an advisory role in IT projects to ensure that proposed solutions are in-line with operational capabilities of Network services tower.

Education/Experience

     Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or similar areas of study, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience to successfully perform the essential functions of the position.
•  6+ years of work experience in an IT delivery role, preferably in Network Solutions.

     Preferred

• 10+ years’ work experience in an IT delivery role, preferably in Network Solutions.
• Network Technology certification.
• Certification in Networking or related area from any of the major cloud service providers.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• Experience with outsourced vendor and vendor contract management, including SLA review.
• Experience identifying operational issues and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve.
• Experience analyzing and reporting data in order to identify issues, trends, or exceptions to drive improvement of results and find solutions.
• Prior experience in design, implementation and operations of IT Network solutions working with managed services provider(s).
• Ability to assess and communicate Network concepts and practices, with both business and IT stakeholders.
• Knowledge of Aruba routing/switching technologies (or equivalent), traffic engineering, and experience interpreting and taking action on alert management and performance management reports.

• Optimizes Work Processes – Establishes consistent operating practices and governance processes to improve efficiency and service quality.

USD $98,400.00 - USD $139,000.00 /A

Role is eligible for 10% annual incentive provided the business meets financial goals and the individual meets their performance goals, subject to plan administration guidelines.
